This is our non-faithful recreation of the Cantonese-style, tapas-like small-plate service offered at more traditional Chinese restaurants.
Items that we might have (but are not limited to) include:
Hum Bao – curried squash (vegan) or pork and kimchi jam
Lotus Wraps – sticky rice w/spicy pork and crawfish or squash, mushroom,
and black bean sauce (vegan, GF)
Rice Noodles – pork, veggie (GF), or shrimp (GF)
Sui Mai – pork & shrimp, or veggie (vegan)
Chinese Greens w/Oyster Sauce
Pea Tips w/Garlic and Chinese Black Beans (vegan, GF)
Potstickers – pork, cabbage, ginger
Sesame Balls w/Red Bean Paste (vegan, GF)
Our Korean Fried Chicken is brined for 48 hours, par smoked, chilled overnight, fried and tossed with a garlic and ginger soy vinegar sauce. It is served either as a half or whole chicken along tasty sides and is served family style.
Our fresh local Tofu is treated in the same manner as the chicken. The Eggplant is tossed with a ginger, garlic sweet and sour soy marinade.
All Meals include assorted pickles, kimchi, steam buns, laver, green onion ginger rice, and Orange Dot Sauce – an aioli-based garnish featuring house pickled mustard seeds and scallions.
Spirits: Boke has a full bar available with several house specialty cocktails, including our house carbonated and bottled drinks.
Boke Bowl started as a monthly pop-up experience in Portland, Oregon in September of 2010. After just over one year, Boke opened a casual ramen shop in Portland’s Central Eastside Industrial District. In 2014, Boke opened its second location on NW 18th and Northrup.
Boke Bowl serves ramen with handmade noodles, unique slow simmered dashis, and seasonally changing accouterments aimed to satisfy carnivores, pescatarians, vegans, and children alike.
Other dishes include seasonal steam buns, fresh salads, house-brined pickles, and miso butterscotch twinkies. Boke also hosts a weekly (Thursdays) Korean Fried Chicken Night at the Eastside location, and weekend Dim Sum service (Saturday and Sunday, 11am-2pm) at the Westside location.
